One early arctic morning on the 15^th January, Air Cadets from Dewsbury participated in an inter-squadron cross county competition at Thornes Park Athletic Stadium Wakefield against the rest of South and West Yorkshire Wing, resulting in the most successful result in recent memory.

This week saw several changes in Cadet NCOs at 750 (Thorne) Squadron with two being promoted, others being given an acting NCO role, and some cadets leaving to progress their careers.

On the 15th of January , 12 of 2388 (Castleford) air cadets braved the cold January frost; donned their shorts and running shoes and competed in Inter- squadron cross country which was the first sports event of the new year. The 2.3 mile course was situated at Thornes Park in Wakefield , making a change to the 2010-2011 races at Pontefract race course.

Five Thorne Air Cadets took part in Wing Cross Country races on 15 January at Thornes Park, Wakefield.

A cold and frosty morning saw Air Cadets from South and West Yorkshire Wing assemble at Thornes Park, Wakefield on 15th January 2012, for the inter-Squadron cross country race.  Askern Squadron entered a team into the “Junior Boys and Junior Girls” (13-15 year old males/females) and “Youths” category (15-17 year old males)

A cold and frost morning saw Air Cadets from South and West Yorkshire Wing assemble at Thornes Park, Wakefield, for the inter-Squadron cross country race.  Axholme Squadron entered a team into the “Youths” category (15-17 year old males) and after a long and tiring race were placed 6^th in their category.
