Busy Weekend for Yeadon Cadets
2009-07-05

Yeadon squadron has had a very busy weekend. On Saturday the band played its static routine at Westfield School Summer Fair and on Sunday they led the annual Guiseley Carnival. After processing through the town the band performed in the carnival arena in front of a large crowd who appreciated the band’s fine performance.

A team of mainly younger cadets, led by CI Nicola Robinson and former cadet Flying Officer Simon Toffrick from the RAF helped to collect money on the gate and spent time distributing leaflets about the air cadet organisation.

Dr. Peter Isherwood, the squadron Media Communications Officer, who attended both events, praised the cadets. He said, “All the cadets put on a really good show. I received many compliments about their turnout and politeness. They were all a credit to the squadron”.
The Yeadon squadron is recruiting at present. Girls and boys aged 16 and over are invited to visit the Cadet Centre, Coney Park, Yeadon on Wednesday or Friday at 7pm.
