On Sunday 16th August 2009 Air Cadets from Goole attended the South and West Yorkshire Wing shooting training, at Strensall Ranges, near York. The cadets from Goole were joined by squadrons from throughout the wing to take part in training on the No° 8, and L98 A1 and L98 A2 Rifle. Once training was completed, the cadets got the opportunity to participate in target shooting on the ranges at Strensall.

All the cadets thoroughly enjoyed themselves, with many learning marksmanship skills that instil discipline, and increase concentration.
Ms Blanchard, A Civilian Instructor from 2357 Goole Sqn said “Target shooting is always a fun and exciting activity for the cadets, and the highest level of training is provided, all the cadets feel lucky to be able to participate in this great sport”
Target Shooting is just one of the many activies that the Air Training Corps provide. The ATC is a youth organisation open to anyone aged 13-17.
