Goole and Askern Air Cadets recently paired up to undertake their Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Expedition. Over the recent bank holiday, the cadets met up to undertake a 2 day expedition around the Askern area. Working in 2 groups, the cadets had to navigate their way from a set start point to their camp site. They then camped overnight and then navigating their way to their pick up point the next day.

This was the first expedition for some members of the group, who are all working towards achieving their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh award. For the remained, this was their assessed expedition and they are now looking at continuing on with the award at Silver level.
Cadet Sergeant C Little (16) of Goole Squadron said “All the cadets did well on the expedition and developed their navigation and camping skills, as well as learning to work better as a team”
The Duke of Edinburgh Award is just one of the many activities that the Air Cadets provide. Air Cadets is a youth organisation open to anyone aged 13-17.
