On Sunday 18th October, Rugby and Netball teams from across the region came together at Knottingley High School and Sports College to take part in the inter-wing competitions at senior and open level.
South and West Yorkshire Wing put in a team for both events and while the day started on a low with the Netball team losing their first match and the Rugby team drawing their first match against the reigning champions at East Lancashire.
From then on, the score lines got better for both teams and although the netball team lost the day overall, the Rugby team went on to win the competition. The entire team has been selected to attend the trials for regional selection.
