2490 (Spen Valley) Squadron of the Air Training Corps hosted a Festive Celebration recently, bringing a little Christmas cheer to all the people who have assisted them this year, as a thank you for their support.

Cadets served up mince pies and cream, tea, coffee, sherry and mulled wine to their guests, who included their parents, several members of the Air Cadet Organisation from South and West Yorkshire Wing, including Squadron Leader Andy Blaikie and Squadron Leader Pete Doubell. Finally the squadron were very pleased that MP Mike Wood also paid a visit to sample the cadets’ offerings.
The squadron’s Commanding Officer, Flying Officer Kellyann Martin said “An excellent evening was had by all, and the staff and guests were delighted with the politeness of the cadets. They have worked hard this year at progressing themselves, and as a result, the squadron has made a dramatic improvement.”
The Squadron Civilian Committee would like to thank Asda Stores Ltd for their generous donation of supplies for the evening.
