Recently cadets at 2388 Castleford Air Cadets successfully completed their first class classification after recently being recruited. This is the first step towards achieving a BTEC in aviation studies.

This training given to gain the first class classification is designed to give you the basic skills and knowledge you will need
before attending RAF Stations and joining in the full activities of the Squadron. Cadets studied ten topics in total ranging from
the history of the RAF and handling the rifle to first aid and drill.
Commanding Officer Flt Lt J Williamson presented the awards to the following cadets to wear on their brassards:
Scott Glossop from Brigshaw High School
Laura Hallas from Temple Moor High School
Marcus White from Castleford High School
James Beamen from Woodkirk High School
Jack Walton from Garforth Community College
There are numerous opportunities for young people aged between 13 and 17 in the Air Cadets including; flying, gliding, target shooting and sports, as well as the chance to gain BTEC qualifications.
